When is real of tax year if revenue closed on 31 December?

I finally completed some documents this evening which I need to have with revenue by 31 December. I went to hand deliver them to discover that the office has no post box. So, I won't be able to deliver them before 2 (or maybe 3?) January.

Should I post it tomorrow and try to make a case that that was "submitting" it, or do you think they will take it on the next day they are open?

[And now I have made a typo in the title of this message and can't edit it. I am feeling particularly unlucky (or should that be stupid) tonight.]

Provided they are date stamped the "31st December" or earlier revenue will accept that they are filed on time.

So your only option is to post them ASAP and hope they get through note late or maybe not noticed. Sorry could not be anymore help

I doubt if the revenue will be too worried about this as long as they are dealt with on the first workday of 2007
