when is credit check finished

We are at the final stages of buying our second house and all seems to be running smoothly.We have accepted and returned loan offer to the bank and signed contracts and ready to close in 4 weeks.Now i want to borrow 5k to buy a second hand car as my own has been written off and need a car to transport kids.

My question is if i take on a loan now may my bank do another credit search before they issue the loan cheque or is at that stage all done and dusted .This is what is seemed to be the story when i speak to my mortgage advisor he has no outstanding docs and is happy with everything.

I am not in a credit union so thats not an option.

Any advise appreciated
 
A credit check will be done before you receive a letter of offer - if you have this already then you have nothing to worry about
