Wrong forum When do I qualify for JB?

hi Welfarite, thanks again for all the info... all new to me this.

after reading the rules for jb again, i think i may be eligible for it next year.

i have full stamps paid from 1998 to april 2008. then from may 2009 to the middle of jan 2010.

so, in 2011 the relevant tax year will be 2009 - i've 32 weeks paid
If you don't have 13 paid contributions in the relevant tax year, you must have the 13 contributions paid in any of one the following years:
• The 2 tax years before the relevant tax year (2007 and 2008)

2007 - 52 weeks, 2008 - 14 weeks.

so, i'm pretty sure i'll be eligible in 2011?

The 13 paid condition in other years 'get out' is only used to qualify if you haven't them in the relevant year; you have that in 2008 and 2009. But you don't have the combined 39 paid/credited in the relevant year 2008 or 2009 (from Jan 2011).

so i need 39 payments in 2008?

i'm estimating this to be 32.. but could be a bit more... would they really deny me this over a couple of weeks do you think?

seeing as i've paid all these years, and never asked for anything
 
It's cut and dried in legislation; 39 paid OR credited, with minimum of 13 of them paid.
