Whats what in showers

Looks like our electric shower might be dead.
We have recently upgraded the boiler controls and can have hot water heated by the gas (1/4 price of electric heated water) based on a timer and thermostat.
I'd consider putting in a standard shower run off the hot water tank. What are the options? Are they dearer than an electric to buy? I'm assuming cheaper to install and run.
What are thermostatic showers?
The hot water tank is right beside the shower so I assume plumbing would be minimal.

Anyone get this done recently?

Top of range would be booster pump to thermostatically controlled shower head mixer. Minimum €600 for parts

Mid range would be thermostatically controlled shower head €300

Low range would be mixer shower head from €100

My suggestion would be (since you already power in place) is a AS2000XT from Triton. You will likely have a hole in the wall when you remove the existing shower so the mixer showers may not suit.
