Hey,

Was passing though a samll village today called Tulsk in Co. Roscommon and noticed a sign up outside a dark looking housing estate for properties for 99K.

These are new builds and I assume 1 or 2 bed apartments but its pretty cheap (even for Roscommon standards) and i was wondering if anyone else has seen such crazy deals?

I bed in Tulsk? Doubt that'll look cheap in a year or two.

Moneygrower - yeah your right! Just strange seeing 99K on a sign for a house (in Ireland), much more used of seeing 6 figure numbers

Does anyone have a web link of these properties in Tulsk ?

I don't think they are on daft.ie (at least not showing at the knock down price).

Is this the cheapest new property in the republic, does anyone know anywhere cheaper ?

Is there a website in the republic which tracks reductions in the asking price of houses (I know it's an unspeakable subject on AAM)

I have seen two semi house in Kildare new one had a look inside and I do not know how they expect anyone to get furniture in there. It was soon small and no fireplace either hallway look minuscule and stairs going off it. They were asking 'at a know down price' of 250k for it. Still on the market today that was 3 months ago.:rolleyes:

These Tulsk houses are on the market for several years without selling.
Really in the middle of nowhere - no local town or anything there!

I know there is not much in Tulsk in terms of amenities, but it would suit people who like nature and wildlife !
Not everyone wants to be near shops/gyms/schools/libraries/multiplex cinemas/pubs/restaurants/post offices/banks etc


I wonder is there a point at which the local council would buy these for social housing.

Surely it cost more than 100k to build the houses.

On a perhaps mundane note note, Tulsk has the spot from which Ailill and Queen Maedbh (as one legend has it) came out of the ground to lead the Connachtmen into Ulster for the Táin Bó Cuailgne.

On another mundane note, no council should buy where it cannopt resettle people i.e. places where people don't want to live !

Isn't it a case of really bad marketing here

These relatively affordable houses in Tulsk are not being marketed on any popular website.
Potential customers won't see them.

Price for Apts in Carrington, Santry are now from €189k, down approx €150k from their initial price. Incredible.
