What will happen to home mortgage if renting out family home?

Hi All,
Would appreciate some advise on what to do... Living in a house and area we no longer want to be in for many reasons. For the sake of sanity we want to move but it's is just not that simple at the moment to sell up. Would it be crazy to rent out the family home and then rent another house in a different area? What would our current mortgage lender say? We are not in any arrears but our mortgage is part of the central bank review of trackers so don't want to sell just yet.

As far as I know, only Danske insist on removing trackers from people who rent out their family home. The mortgage contracts of some of the others allow them to charge more, but they don't enforce it.

I was speaking to someone yesterday who rented out their home 3 years ago and they pay An Post €120 a year to redirect their post to their new home.

We are in the exact same position as yourselves and just never told the bank. Wasn't aware we had to to be honest.
