What type of recordable DVDs to buy?

Hi,

I am buying the DVD player in the link below and am just trying to figure out what DVDs to buy for it - it writes both DVD- and DVD+ (dual layer) but I have no idea what the difference is between those two and which one to go for. I reckon a DVD with standard storage (don't reckon I need dual layer) would do.

Anyone have any idea?

Thanks,

These are great value seen as you're already purchasing at Komplett

and for RW's:

Personally I've found +R/+RW play in more dvd players of friends I give them to than the -R/-RW. The examples above are also cheaper.

On my Sony DVD recorder, certain more advanced functions (such as 'chase playback' - start watching the start of the show you are currently recording) on work with -RW discs.

I guess that Rainyday is just pointing out some of the quirks of certain recordable DVD media and standalone players in case this is relevant to the original poster.
