what to do next?

signing the papers tomorrow to get our new house and once thats done i haven't a clue what to do next!! can anyone who recently bought a house tell me what needs to be done, i heard that the bank needs us to get life assurance, is this right?? and is there any website or anything where you can compare the price of house insurance and stuff like that??

No - you can shop around for this and will probably get a better deal if you do rather than taking it from/through your lender.

You will need to comply with the conditions outlined on your loan offer. The person who put your mortgage application together should be able to help you with some of these conditions and tell you what documentation you need to provide, put it together and send it to the lender. Your solicitor will give an undertaking to the lender to comply with the legal conditions.

As pointed out already, you don't need to take your life/house cover with the lenders recommendation so its worthwhile doing a bit of research to ensure you get the best possible deal.

Once all the conditions have been met and the closing date approaches, your solicitor will request the cheque from the lender and pass it on to the vendors solicitor.
