what to do after i sell?

We have been thinking of selling for a while now and my question is if we sold is it a good idea to rent while looking for another house or is that risky?
 
Its fine to rent while looking for another place - why would you think it risky? The only thing I can think of that might cause a problem is you dont actually know how long you will be renting for. 3 months a year.
Lots of people are in chains when selling houses - and they manage to sort out move in dates without having to rent - why do you think you wont be able to do the same..

if you sell your house first that puts you into a stonger buying position when bidding for a house as there is no chain there also the purchase is quicker and not messy
