what the hell is a ?GB webspace

will someone tell me what the hell is a GB. i am hoping to start something on the net and i will be getting a web site....i am trying to find out what i need in the way of capacity for what i want to do...will someone give me an example of what 1 GB would be capable of doing. Better still ..how many GB's would askaboutmoney need to operate.
 
thought i was the only one that didn't know what GB was

First off sarky responses (after 19 minutes for Christsake!) won't get you anywhere on a community board like this.

for a good explanation of what a gigabyte (GB) is.

By the way no ones paid to be here at your beck and call 'people'.

In terms of web-sites, GB can refer to two things -- the amount of disk-space used on the web-server, or the total amount of data that can be downloaded by users of your web-site, usually each month.
