What Slideshow Presentation Software?

Hi,
I am attempting to put a slide show together.
Laptop connected to LCD with show running in a continuous random loop.
I have tried Microsoft Powerpoint but as I have a mixture of portrait and landscape images it is impossible to run both layouts in the one presentation.

What I want, what I really really want is;
a presentation that will allow portrait and landscape images to be displayed from the one file.
the ability to add text to each image.
the ability to totally randomize the order of the images.

I know there is something very handy out there but I just don't know about it yet!
