If it was confusing when i bought my house 3 years ago in the boom it is even more confusing for a friend of mine right now - she is offered 70% mortgage and seen a house she likes and can afford however with the budget around the corner is it a good idea to wait to see what the proposals will be for FTB's.

What do you think the budget will bring for people buying houses in particular FTB's?

I read an article about all the vacant affordable housing. My tip would be that getting these occupied will be the main agenda.

Penny, your friend can proceed with the purchase process and just instructor her solicitor not to complete the purchase until a few days after the budget, in case there's anything in it for FTB's. Not sure of the exact legalities but a friend of mine is doing the same thing just in case. Solicitors will know.
