I am in the process of relocating to the West of Ireland. I own a property in Dublin 10 which is currently valued at 340,000 plus(my mortgage is for 150,000). I am in a dilema whether to sell this summer and reinvest down West by the end of the year. I do not intend to return to Dublin. The other option is to rent the house out for a year which feels like too much hassle. I cant afford to take out a second mortgage....What to do??????

I'd rent in the west for the first say 6 months to make sure I liked it. Then sell in dublin and buy out west.

if you know for sure you'll like it already, I'd buy and sell.

I'm with Resident.

Rent for a couple of months to get to know the place and decide if you want to stay then buy. Plus with the local knowledge you'll have gained in the meantime you'll be better able to choose the ideal location to move to.
