What is the best broadband in Dublin 8?

Hi Guys

I have recently moved into an apartment on Cork St.

I have bought a laptop, and now I wish to get broadband. I have been quite frightened by most people's experiences with broadband on this site.

I need to decide soon which broadband provider is the best to use.

It will be for personal use, entertainment, some work from home etc...

Any help on this is greatly appreciated!

I am using Smart telcom for 40 euros/month have line rental for phone and unlimited broadband

Pretty happy with it except recently some evenings it is very slow ,i don't know whether its to do with smart ,number of users ,or whether one of my neighbours is using my connection as i have no password on it

Irish Broadband. I had them. Wouldn't recommend them!

Clearwire are pretty reliable.

Clearwire do tend to limit their traffic by all accounts so if you were to use them for bittorrent and the like you will find the service pathethic.

Smart are the best choice if its available. Given the appalling copper in the D8 area in many cases they are the only choice due to their offering being dsl2+ and thus capable of higher speeds over poor copper.

I have used them for about 2 years now and its been a good experience overall.
