What happens if Ireland goes Bankrupt?

I am just wondering if Ireland should go bankrupt what would happen?
What happens to Us as individuals with mortgages and loans?
What happens with the government?
What happens to us if the IMF takes over?
What happened to Iceland?
It's just something that has been worrying me.
