Hi. A relative of mine has come into a large sum of money (seven figure sum).
The person is in their late seventies. What advice would one give on where to invest this?
Should one invest it all in one bank or spread it around? I understand that the Government will guarantee deposits up to €100,000. Is that per deposit account? How safe will their money be?
Presumably a short term access account would make sense considering the person's age?
Also, are banks open to negotiation over deposit rates depending on the size of the deposit?
