Looking at some of the new greenfield developments in various countries it strikes me that oftentimes these are located in the middle of nowhere with poor infrastructure and not always serviced by budget or even regular airlines. You often get the feeling that the local town might not have much to offer in the way of things to do. I also get the feeling that so long as there is a golf course nearby or about to be built that this is the main reason for buying. But what about the rest of the family?
What I am trying to get at, is what makes you decide on a particular country, location, town, development? Is it golf course, skiing, close to the sea, rental possibilities off season, cafe society, nightlife, peace and quiet etc?
