Hi All
hope someone can shed some light on my prediciment
I have worked part-time (piece work) for 20 years as barperson for a local sports club and they have recently told me that they cannot offer me any work at the moment as they cannot afford to pay me, even though my wages cannot be conidered an overhead as I was only emloyed to work for events and would always have been covered by takings in the bar.
I have been told that even though they have no money and cannot offer my work they still want to keep me involved (think this is just to keep me dangling in case all goes pearshaped) but have held 3 events recently that I was not required to work for.
The position is still there but they claim that it is being fulfilled on a voulentary basis by club members
I was paid cash in hand as to the best of my knowledge they had never registered as an employer.
Do I have any rights regarding redundancy?
