Stayed there for 3 nights two years ago. Rooms were poor. Windows wouldn't close properly and there was a lot of noise from the road. Room doors onto corridors 'slammed' shut and it sounded like gun shots throughout the night.
There were a lot of children left unsupervised also. Not a very relaxing hotel.
We organised 2 days horse riding through the hotel and the guy who owned the stables was the General Manager of the hotel. We didn't know this and when he asked how we were getting on, Mrs H let rip. He organised a free meal and two spa treatments. Which was nice. Wouldn't go back in a million years.
I have been to Hotel Westport and The Old Railway Hotel a few times and never had a problem.
