Hi. We are currently building a timber framed house and had originally planned to install a heat exchanger. Turns out, this cant happen. The windows will have the usual vents incorporated. We are wondering if this is enough and if people have found their timber framed homes to be stuffy or clammy?
Many Thanks.

Am not an expert in this field ... but would have thought that any well insulate d house - irrespective of construction method - would be unhealthy without proper ventilation. So correct ventilation is essential.

You should have vent in each of the rooms for air circulation purposes

Re: insulated Timber Framed houses, are they stuffy without HRV

ok. thanks for the replys.
Our builder advised us that there is not enough attic space for the Heat recovery system.
Anyone know of models that do not need to be installed in the attic, ie: that can be housed in the utility room or another space at ground level.

Thanks again.
