I've been working part time forthe last year and a half. Somebody mentioned recently to me that I'm entitled to social wlefare. I work around 2/3 shifts of 4 hours per week. Recently I have been actively looking for full time work. Do I fit the right criteria?

I'd Appreciate somebodies opinion, thanks.

You can do some work whilst receiving certain benefits but there are rules and restrictions.

A lot depends on what type of benefit you are talking about. For example if you received illness benefit you might be entitled to do some very limited and tightly defined work but only with the permisson of the department.

Contact the department and check it out with them first.

You should be claiming Jobseeker's Benefit/Allowance for the days that you do not work provided that you are looking for full-time work. call to your local Social welfare office to make a claim.

A reduced rate of Jobseekers Benefit is paid only where the working days have been reduced ie. if you had been working 5 days and this was reduced to say 3 days. Then you apply for jobseekers for the days you are not working. But if 3 days was the norm for you then I don't think jobseekers is an option. Always check with your local SW

She must have suffered a substantial loss and the OP did not mention this as 3 days appears to be her norm
Would unreasonable restrictions not involved as she is only available for part-time work
