I would check closer to the time Tilly D, I was here last year in November and it was lovely bright crisp days, one day of rain, I had Autumn clothes, warm but not exactly winter wollies.
However as I look out my window at the moment - it's still like summer. As they said on the news last night 'summer is refusing to let go!', at the moment New York is 15 degrees above average!
But as we all know this could change. If you bring a coat that you can wear day and night the rest should be easy enough.
And remember - best shopping in the world, if you don't have the right clothes you will just have to go buys some
