Water restrictions with a combi boiler

I have a combi boiler so all my water comes directly from the mains. Without a water tank, I am completely without water during the restrictions. The water does not work its way back to the pipes until late morning (too late to have a shower before work) and sometimes the pressure is not even great enough to produce hot water until early evening.

With the Irish Times report today claiming that Dublin faces water shortages for the next 10 years (!!!), is anyone aware of the possibility of adding a water storage tank to a combi system?

Some combi boilers have a built in storage unit but the capacity is not that much. I don't think it is possible to add one on to an existing unit.

I have a Combi Boiler, but I have a standard cold water tank in the attic & that keeps me going for water generally.

On the showering side of things, can I recommend the method used when I lived in Malaysia.... bucket of warm water, soapy sponge to clean yourself in the normal way & then pick up the bucket & tip it over your head to rinse off... amazingly refreshing! :)
