Hi everyone,

I have a water pump in the hot press of my apartment - about 5.5 years old now. Over the weekend it just stopped pumping properly - it's like it has slowed down. It's still running but at a lesser rate so the pressure is too low for the shower to work properly. Is this common - do they just give up the ghost eventually? And can anyone recommend a plumber to take a look?

Thanks.

you are going to need a new pump. It is just normal for this to happen. There not as expensive as you think. They start at around €154+ depending on what boost you would like.

I would ring a couple of people from the golden pages & make sure they have the registered Guild too & always get at least 4 quotes to give you an idea how much it will cost..

Good Luck

Thanks for the reply. I have a plumber coming to take a look this eve. Does anyone know how lomg these pumps (Stuart Turner) usually last?

5 and a half years seems pretty short for something that costs so much - the model I have retails at about €1,000.
