I've recently moved into a newly built house that has a water pressure pump system. Never having had one before I'm not sure if this is a stupid question. When I run a tap/flush a toilet etc.., the pump starts running. Seems logical enough but its located directly above our bedroom and is pretty loud, so no sleep-in for either one of us. I presume this is normal? It also runs intermittently for no apparent reason and can do so every couple minutes for a while. It means that it has to be switched off every night to avoid a 3 a.m. alarm call. Will the builder/plumber just tell me this is the way the system operates?
