anyone got any ideas on what may be happening - whenever it rains, I hear a dripping/creaking noise in my attic. I've gone into it when the nosie is happening and tried to 'follow' it but can find no wet spots at all. it only happens when it rains
I don't know whether to call a plumber or a roofer or who?
Sometimes if the top of your chimney protrudes out water can drip off this onto the rooftop making a dripping sound. Can you describe the sound. i.e. water on metal. Or wood etc. Is it constant or intermittent and does it continue after the rain stops and for how long.
it sounds like it's water on metal, i think!!! it's loud so it could'nt be on to the wood. When I'm in the attic when it's happening, it sounds like it's coming from where my house joins each of the houses' eitherside, the chimney being 1 area I was looking at closely last time but could'tn see anything
Once the rains tops, the noise stops very soon after
from what you've all said, it could be 1 for a roofer
