Water damage - new house

Hi All,

Just wondering if anybody has advice.

We purchased a new house (about 4 weeks ago ) - we had a drainage problem and had a leak from our en-suite into our sitting room after 2 weeks.

We had some items which were damaged and will be paid for (small amount of money) - they are goign to fix the problem over the next couple of weeks...
My question is - should I be compensated for the problem - i.e. not being able to use my enuite shower for a few days, limited use of my back garden etc...

You can ask but I doubt it. You would get further if this is a place where builders are still on site elsewhere and you ask for say a cement patio or some other building work or materials that the builder could provide via men already on site. As a goodwill gesture. Money is much more difficult to extract.
