when building extensions or anything else for that matter watch the cost of extras,these are items of the build where you change your mind on things as the job progresses they can be costly.The best thing to do is tell your builder that you will not pay for anything that you have not previously agreed the price on .
 
Did you get badly burnt?
no not badly burnt however i got a shock and when myself and the builder debated the list of things that he said were extras he reduced the bill from 8 and a half g to six ,.you will be tempted to change the plan as you see the building taking shape so be carefull that "no problem" from the builder will cost you ,plan well and be shy of changing your mind
