Looking for advice please!

Dropped 3 my year old watch into Wiers on Grafton St recently as battery had run out. Got it back and 3 days later it stopped. Dropped it back in and was told that the watch needed a service every 3 years. Paid for both the battery and the service. Stopped again next day.

To cut a long story short, have been back 4 more times and watch still not working. Haven't really taken it up with them yet as they have been helpful thus far, but looks like watch is now dead as a dodo.

Watch costs Eur1,500 to replace......do I have a leg to stand on?

Thanks.

Did you buy it in Weirs? What is the watches warranty period? If its within its warranty you should be entitled to a new one or the old one repaired to working order.

Nope, didn't buy it in Wiers, and watch not within warranty. To be honest, I think I'm stuffed, but was just wondering if anyone had had a similar experience to give me some hope.....

Ther is a watch repair shop on wicklow street that might be able to help you as they are fantastic and reasonable rates too.

There is a also a watch repair shop upstairs from the camera shop at the top of Dawson Street...
