I can't see new septic tank legislation coming in while there is a problem with rogue treatment system installers who have caused so much problems because of lack of maintenance.

The government need to wake up between this and mounting their <> charges on us.

I don't understand what you mean here?

Are you saying that you don't think the new legislation will make a difference? I was lead to believe that the new legislation will in-fact stop rogue products from being selected, and ensure long term maintenance procedures?

From what I gather the proposed legislation will be monitoring of existing tanks in the ground and then recommend up grading of maybe 5 per cent of what is monitored.

How does the government monitor rogue companies when it comes to people upgrading from regular septics.

It's bad enough to have first time home owners like me get caught by a rogue company but what is stopping them from selling to people who are upgrading to new tanks for the first time.

The Councils have raised a red flag to all bodies across Ireland about such rogue companies and hopefully that will stop them from catching more people but what about the other rogue companies out there that may not have maintained tanks?

I think the government need to weed out the rogues from the genuine certificate holders before any legislation and and then clean up our country.

I have removed references to particular companies in the preceding posts.
