Waste disposal tax relief on maintenance charge

We pay a maintenance charge for our apartment at a cost of c1000 per year.
This in part covers our waste disposal costs.
Ordinarily, tax relief is available for waste disposal charges.
Does anyone know if it possible to claim tax relief in part on the apartment maintenance charge for waste disposal cost?
If not, it seems unfair to me.
 
I believe I've spotted this mentioned before on AAM.

As long as you have a breakdown of the management costs (and how much of it is going towards disposal charges) the thread suggested you shouldn't have a problem claiming it. (I've never actually done this though, so hopefully someone can confirm this for you)
