Warranty question re Passat

My boot kept opening on my 6month old passat and the garage fixed it but the workman ship was shabby. Anyway they have taken the car back and given a replacement. When they dropped up the replacement they said to have it back with the same amount of petrol in the car.

Can they do this and can I ask for my car to be replaced with fuel as they have driven it from my house to the garage and back.

My car is still under warranty for another 18 months, surely Im entitled to another car without any costs?

About 17 miles.

its the principal of having shoddy workman ship that they expected me to take and the basic lack of good customer service.
