Want to trade 05 Astra, advice/opinions...

Hi,

I have a 05 Astra Design (high spec) with 78,000kms and would really like a larger car. I am hoping to trade in and have a max budget of €3k.
I've done some looking around and options so far are;

04 TDi Passat with 103,000 miles for 2 grand trade (but am a bit nervous of a car with high miles)

04 1.6 petrol A4 110,000 miles for €3k (is it a guzzler on petrol?)

06 TDi Octavia 77,000miles for €4,300 (was with my mum that day and she said she'd stump up a grand for me so still in budget..ish!)

Anyone wish to offer opinions or advice or suggestions?
 
Passat tdi will do the miles as long as it was looked after. don't buy a poverty spec though.

The A4 petrol defo no way. high miles wrong engine and paying extra just for the badge. the passat is much roomier inside than the a4.

The octavia tdi looks pretty good, but not much bigger than what you have.

I'm leaning towards the Octavia cos of lower miles and it's newer than the others. Ideally I 'd love a 05/06 Passat for the same money but have been told I'm dreaming!

+1 for the Octavia from me, too. You could fit a small horse in that boot.

Check that it's had proper servicing and that the timing belt has been done.
 
Would lean towards the Octavia also although they are quite a boring car. A petrol audi is waste of time while the Passat is okay but it is the older model and like the octavia. Depends what milage you do, do you need a diesel?
