Myself and partner having been talking for the past few weeks of upgrading to a bigger house, in the meantime we have seen an absolute dream house and it is very good price, but because we haven't even contacted an Estate agent about our own house being put up for sale we don't know whether we would have a chance getting the new house.
I have my heart set on this other house, so don't know what to do. Am worried because if I put my house up for sale this house will be gone by the time mine sells, what do you do in a situation like that.
Advice please, thanks.

View the house and then decide if its your dream house. If so speak to that EA and tell him that you are interested but need to sell your own and put it on the market with him (at favourable rate).

Why not see if you can buy the new house & keep the existing one. You may be able to afford the mortgage on both, if say one mortgage (your existing home) was on an interest only basis for a period. If you structure this appropriately, then you will be under no pressure to sell. You could rent out your existing home, and it may well cover the interest only mortgage+ expenses, until such time as a buyer comes along.

You are not caught up in a chain, therefore a more attractive potential buyer. And because of this you may well be able to negotiate a better deal on your new home.

All the best.....D

Thanks for the advice, would definetly take that suggestion of buying it and then renting my current house out, but to be perfectly honest I wouldn't get a mortgage for this other house, I don't earn enough.
Thanks though for your advice.
