Wallpaper - Strip or Paint Over

Hi,

Just planning a revamp of the sitting room which is wallpapered. The wall finish underneath the wallpaper is hardwall finish.
I am wondering if I should try to strip the paper and if so what would be the best method considering the underlying hardwall structure.

Should I paint over the wallpaper?

Would really appreciate any practical advice.

My mother painted over wallpaper in the kitchen a few years ago and every since has painted over the wallpaper in every room. The wallpaper has to be in good condition but any decent Painter would be able to fill in little gaps where it's not great.
