On my last service 9 months ago I had my brake pads replaced, and about 2 weeks ago the yellow light has come on on the dash board indicating the brake pads need to be checked at a VW garage.
Obviosuly wanting to save myself a few quid, I cheked the brake pads and they are still practically brand new after only 9 months driving, only a few miles a day to and from work.
Does anybody know if there is a fault generally here or is there something i might be missing.

Cheers.

Could be the brake light switch......I hear that gives such problems (dodgy warning lights on dash) in a VW

Check the wire coming from the pads and make sure it hasn't been chafed through. If that wire touches the car metal components(earth) it will illuminate the warning light. Is the brake fluid level ok?
