Hi All
i am reading article from UK that people get their VW/Audi car serviced/repair in a Skoda Garage for much less and especially VW/Audi uses same parts as Skoda. Has anyone tried that? or any Mechanic out there can share lights on this? need not to mention VW/Audi service is second after Mercedes..Total Rip off and chopping us like a Lamp Chop..

skoda use same engines gearboxes etc etc as VW Audi

So it would seem to be a good idea.

Got my Audi serviced at Main Dealer (where I purchased the car new )and did not think it was a rip off.
Full Service ( Year 2) Needed Breaks done on front. Cleaned inisde and out. Collected 8.15 am and returned 3.00pm
€582

but €582 is a bit OTT mate.a full service should only cost 100-300 max.
you must a rich still i would give the money i saved to charity for a better cause than being ripped off.

holy crap...i just got a quote from a Skoda dealer a full service will cost €280 euro for a VW polo...don't think theres much of a difference...same rip off...i better off light my car on fire now to save it burning more hole in my pcoket!

Why not try an independant garage? Should cost you half that.

that makes sense alrite..but most independent garage wouldn't euqipped like them do...and VW FSH etc etc.
again..its like going round in circle..if u ain't up for it then drive a cheap car...i am just not happy with the way these main garage ripped off our hard earn dosh!

I'm on my second Audi and have had all my out of warranty services (non dealer service will void warranty) done by a SEAT dealership which has saved approx 30% cost per service.

Same parts, equipments, diagnostics, workmanship and tech training.

Smart move to do this and not pay premium.

yes you are smarter than Eddie Hob!i just got on Skoda Ire and they adviced me a full service will cost 285 euro? that will be no saving at all..
where is the garage u mentioned there? a garage name will be great..

nice...got to tell u i just got a qouote from VW garage for replacing a damaged Cat converter total cost €980 for a 02 vw polo...i tried exhaust specialist but they said those parts need to be order from VW.
so i am working for 2 weeks for nothing

no joy....i am going to be ripped off by these main garage...folks..if u don't mind getting ur car fixed..u cna try order the parts from otto.ie or micksgarage...save u lots of money...:-(

Can suggest you to look in scrap yards for carshed polo (Seat Leon, Skoda Fabia) or buy VW fans magazine, ussually alot of ads of non original parts there.
