VRT rebate due?

Bought car in UK for €19K - going to pay VRT now & the ROS calculator is valuing it at €22.5K. Thats a difference of €700 - is there any way I can pay VRTon 19K or is this just the revenues way of discouraging people from buying in UK?

Revenue don't really care what you paid for the car - they use the average market place price here in Ireland to value it for VRT. The fact that you got it for less is of no interest to them.

you can appeal the vrt and do so by supporting the valuation you believe to be more accurate but you have to pay higher vrt first and then appeal.
