I purchased a car from the UK at the start of May and paid the VRT due on the car. As I felt the OMSP of the car was quite high I decided to lodge an appeal straight away to try to have some of the VRT refunded. I attached with the appeal dealer advertisments for the same car with less mileage and a lower price than that quoted for the OMSP.
I received a letter from the VRO within a couple of days requesting my PPS number which I returned by post the same day. I have not heard anything from them since then. Its been nearly 6 weeks at this stage. Is there some method for following up on the appeals process to request further information or has anyone got any idea how long the overall process should take? Thanks!
