I brought my daughter to the local health centre in Limerick and we were given a voucher/prescription for glasses. Prior to this we always went to Tallaght Hospital to have her eyes checked and we never got any tax relief or prsi help so in the past we have spent a small fortune on glasses. She is only three so they get broken and have to be replaced. Anyway, I decided to get the prescription filled in Vision Express in Cork because they offer an insurance package - for €30 they will fix or replace the glasses as often as they break for two years. Also they will give you two pairs of glasses for the voucher so long as you choose from a certain range. There is no Vision Express in Limerick and none of the other opticians offer such good value. My problem is that when I went to Vision Express today they said that they could not honour the voucher because they were in Cork and the voucher was from Limerick. Does anyone know if this is the case or if there is anything I can do? Or even what department I should ring to get this clarified? Thanks for all your help.
