Volvo V50, 1.6D or 1.8 Petrol

I'm currently considering two similarly spec'd Volvos with the above mentioned engines.

The diesel has leather seats and a six-cd changer and is 2k more expensive. I don't do a hugh amount of mileage each year, probably below average actually.

Anyone any thoughts on which is the better model to go for?

Tough call. The Diesel will sell better and faster but the price is higher.

diesel for definite....you will find it very hard to sell the petrol but the diesel should walk itself out the door

Diesel. You will claw back some of the 2k on re-sale so it is not dead money. A nicer drive. Cheaper tax and insurance than the petrol equivalent in this case which is unusual.
