Hey hope someone can help. I've been offered Voluntary redundancy which will work out about €8000. At the moment i'm getting little to no hours and all the employees there are under the impression that we will be removed slowly by warnings etc and new staff are being hired at half our wage. I'm tempted to take the money before i'm ousted anyway.I live with my boyfriend and at the moment he is on jsa of €76.THis was assessed on my hours in work but my wages have been cut dramatically in the last few weeks. Our rent is €700 monthly and we get no help towards it. If i take the redundancy would i be disqualified from jsb? Would his jsa go up and would we get help with our rent? Really hope someone can offer us information as all the sites get really confusing. Thank you

Voluntary redundancy does not disqualify you from Jobseekers Benefit, unless your payment is in excess of 50,000 Euro. You should qualify for the full rate of JB (188 Euro), and your boyfriend should ask for his JA claim to be reassessed, and if you have no other income/means, he should receive 124.80

If you have been in rented accommodation for 6 months or more, and could afford the rent at the start of your tenancy you may also be eligible for rent supplement. Different counties have a maximum amount of rent that is permitted, so whether you would qualify in your current address would depends which county you are living in.
