I have a query about ‘’voluntary redundancy’’. My sister works for a company that are relocating her job to another part of the country, or alternatively offering her a redundancy package. As the relocation is the other side of the country, and she is married with a child, it does not suit her to move to the new location, so it looks like she will have to accept the redundancy even though she doesnt want to and would prefer to stay working. Would this redundancy be termed ‘’voluntary redundancy’’? She is not entitled to a huge sum of money, but it is more that the statutory rate, so would this affect her right to claim the dole or job seekers benefit? She is having trouble trying to get the answers to these questions,
