Voluntary Redundancy vs Mandatory redundancy

Hi There,

Are there any disadvantages of volunteering for redundancy as opposed to being made redundant? Am I right in saying you don't get as much state benefit if you volunteer for it?

You may be disqualified for up to 9 weeks from Jobseekers Benefit depending on the amount of redundancy payment you get, the weekly amount of JB you get is the same.
