Is it worth paying Voluntary Contributions while living abroad? I believe you have to pay 6.6% of your Final Gross Salary in the year you left Ireland. Would this amout have to be paid yearly to gain the extra years contributions. I read some where that you had to apply within 5 years of leaving. I am not sure how the scheme works or if it is worthwhile.
