Hello,
I need your advice, please.
My friend is EU citizen (not from Ireland).
He worked in Ireland for more than 3 years, paid all the PRSI and contributions so he is entitled for a dole.
But - he left his job voluntarily because he didn’t like the job. He didn’t have problems with his boss but job itself.
He left his job in February. The problem is he didn’t register in Social Welfare Office after he left his job. He didn´t have time to do so because he was needed at home unexpectedly (familly matters) and he had to fly home a.s.a.p..
After three weeks he’s back in Ireland again. He doesn´t want to go to his country, he likes it here.
Of course he’s trying to find a job but so far he was not successful.
My question is if he is entitled for benefit and if you think he should tell the reason why he is applying for benefit after 3 weeks and why he didn´t do it earlier. Should this be another obstruction in getting a benefit?
Thank you.
