Vodaphone paltry compensation offer

My vodafone no has been unable to receive calls since Christmas from other networks 085,086 etc and landlines. I don’t even get a missed call from the nos trying to contact me so people have been assuming I’m just not taking their calls or getting back to them.

About 2 weeks ago Vodafone eventually found out what was happening and that there was a problem with routing calls to my 087 number. I’ve had to call them about ~10 times since I first noticed the problem. Repeatedly they promise to call me back the next day or an agreed day with an update but not once have they fulfilled their promise. After 3 months of being more than patient, being asked the same questions every single time I call, having SIM replaced etc I asked to speak to a supervisor last night. I was told then that the problem with 086 is now resolved but I still can’t receive landline calls. At the moment I’m trying to buy a house so this is an even bigger problem now than at any other time. The supervisor offered me 60 euro (3 months line rental) as a credit on my account. Should I accept this or can I take this further someway. My phone has been basically useless for 3 months and I see 60 euro as a paltry amount to compensate me for this.

sounds like an extremly poor offer a;right..especially when you are on bill pay... I would ask them to double there offer..unsure where you could go "further" with it,,,

While three months line rental credited to your account doesn’t seem much, I suppose the way they would view it is that is all you are down financially, & I doubt if they would offer any more.

You could make a formal complaint to ComReg www.comreg.ie , but they would only get involved after you have made an official complaint in writing to Vodafone & received an official reply from them.

To put your mind at rest you could contact them, explain what has happened & ask them do they think it would be worth any more time & effort pursuing the matter further. They would be able to advise you best on this, but if I were you I would be looking for a cheque for three months line rental & to be released from my Vodafone contract without any penalty fees or charges, so as I could move to a completely different provider. ComReg might be able to help you achieve this.
