Within the vodafone contacts setup, it is possible to set up groups of contacts for mail. Is it possible to use the groups for texting, I can't see how to do it.

Don't quiet understand your question, but I do know that with Vodafone all4one (don't know what they have it branded as now) you can set up groups of contacts which you can send messages to. You can't send emails with the service.
