Virgin fibre upgrade on house, how long before active?

VM installed fibre on my house about 6 weeks ago with the flyer saying I can now get BB from VF or SKY as well as them of course.

Each time I check on the other website I don't see the option of Gigabit BB

Anyone had this happen recently, how long before fibre is on ?

Do I have to go with VM for the first year to activate?

My VM contract runs out in about a month or 2 so would like the options for decent competition.
 
Why did VM install fibre, did you ask them to? If so surely they asked you to agree to a 12 month contract? Vodafone installed mine and Broadband was active before I let him leave!

I found that installation took about 2 weeks from ordering. Check on phone with Sky, Vodafone etc. They should be pretty quick but 1gb may depend on your area
 
Massive coincidence just had circnet at the door with a lift.

Fibre is not testing well so they are looking at a problem, that would explain it.
