We are planning to go to Vienna in March and hoping to stay in an apartment which is quite central - its for four nights. Has anyone stayed in apartment whilst there? Have looked into the usual web sites but the apartments are mainly for more than 4 people so was hoping to find a one bed. Any replies would be appreciated.

thanks

Yes stayed in an apartment there for four nights 5/6 weeks ago.Have a look at this site [broken link removed]
Have used these people twice this year in Vienna and Rome and found them good.As we did not know Vienna we stayed near Westbanhof Station and apartment was only a short walk away.Apartment in Rome was excellent. The one in Vienna was clean and adequate-except it had a wandering showerhead which was annoying. It was also just a few mins from main shopping street and great transport system.Buy a Vienna Card about 18 Euro which allows u hop on/off trams and metro as much as u like.

over rated city that operates as a museum, is clogged with traffic, poor quality restaurants and too many people trying to sell you a musical night (which is not bad actually). Are you really sure you want to go to Vienna..much better cities in Europe...Barcelona/Dubrovnik/Edinburgh/London/Paris

thanks for replies. Portboy.....have been to loads of cities in Europe and all you have mentioned......so was going to trying Vienna for something different....have heard great things about it but we are still open to suggestions of other cities! Nothing booked yet as still thinking!!

I did this trip last year but flew in to Bratislava with SkyEurope.com then got the connecting bus to Vienna. Beautiful coach journey through the winefields. Stayed in the NH Belvedere a lovely hotel well located. Vienna has beautiful architecture and parks and I would agree with portboy about the restaurant scene. Worth no more than a 3 night stay. Why not spend a couple of nights in Bratislava and a couple of nights in Vienna.
